Magneto-optical properties of semimagnetic semiconductors with nanometer-scale structures (nanostructures) are described. Superlattices of the CdTe/Cd1 − xMnxTe and Cd1 − xMnxTe/ZnTe systems and microcrystals of Cd1 − xMnxSe were grown by epitaxy and sputtering methods. These semimagnetic semiconductor nanostructures show remarkably enhanced magneto-optical responses in the optical absorption, the luminescence and the dynamics of the confined excitons. The results are interpreted by the quantum-confined excitonic states interacting with the magnetic ion spins involved in the nanostructures.  相似文献

The synthesis of a variety of organotin compounds with 1H, 1H, 2H, 2H‐perfluorooctyl groups is reported, together with an improved method for the corresponding distannoxane. Unique properties of this compound are disclosed in terms of fluorophilicity and activity as a Lewis acid catalyst in comparison with other mono‐nuclear derivatives. Three 0.5% cold-leg small-break loss-of-coolant accident (SBLOCA) experiment were conducted at the ROSA-IV Large Scale Test Facility (LSTF) to investigate the effects of break orientation on system thermal-hydraulic responses. In these three experiments, the break hole was located at the side, bottom, and top of the horizontal cold leg, respectively. Although the key phenomena observed in the three experiments were basically the same, the break flow rate was affected by the break orientation when phase stratification occured in the cold leg; the break flow rate was largest for the side break and smallest for the top break. The RELAP5/MOD2 code failed to predict the difference in the break flow rate observed in the experiments. Modification to the break flow calculation models, for both subcooled and two-phase flow discharge conditions, resulted in good agreement between data and predictions.  相似文献

The synthesis and optical properties of polymers bearing the repeating unit of terfluorene and various organosilicon groups were investigated. Polymers with high molecular weight and good solubility could be obtained by Suzuki coupling polymerization from silylene‐containing fluorene‐based dibromo monomers and 9,9‐dihexylfluorene‐2,7‐bis(trimethyleneborate). From UV spectra of polymers bearing acyclic silylene bridge, the organosilicon units not only interrupted a π‐conjugation but also contributed to an electronic communication between connected fluorenes. The emission maximum wavelengths (ca. 400 nm) blue‐shifted when compared with that of polyfluorene (418 nm) and the fluorescence quantum yields were considerably high (>0.82) in the CHCl3 solution. On the other hand, rather broad emission was observed at 480 nm and the fluorescence quantum yield was quite low (0.004) in the solution‐state PL spectrum of tetraphenylsilole‐containing polymer. The polymer emitted visible green light in the spin‐coated film. The fluorescence peak intensity at 486 nm gradually decreased when the film was illuminated with the UV light of 359 nm in air. © 2007 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. A laser-heated sample in a diamond anvil cell and synchrotron X-ray radiation was used to carry out structural characterization of the phase transformation of Fe2O3 at high pressures (30-96 GPa) and high temperature. The Rh2O3(II) (or orthorhombic perovskite) structure transforms to a new phase, which exhibits X-ray diffraction data that are indicative of a CaIrO3-type structure. The CaIrO3-type structure exhibited an orthorhombic symmetry (space group: Cmcm) that was stable at temperatures of 1200-2800 K and pressure of 96 GPa (the highest pressure used). Unambiguous assignment of such a structure requires experimental evidence for the presence of two Fe species. Based on the equation of state of gold, the phase boundary of the CaIrO3-type phase transformation was P (GPa)=59+0.0022×(T−1200) (K).  相似文献

The ultrasonic reactor with dual frequency was used and the effect of frequency on the fluorescence intensity of terephthalate ion was experimentally investigated in the frequency range from 176 to 635 kHz. The sonochemical reaction fields were visualized by using sonochemical luminescence of luminol solution. Compared with the fluorescence intensity of terephthalate ion for single frequency, the fluorescence intensity for dual frequency increased. The fluorescence intensity ratio of dual frequency to single frequency had maximum value when the frequency of transducer attached at the bottom wall was comparable in magnitude to that at the side wall. In the case of dual frequency, the sonochemical reaction fields became more extensive in the reactor and more intensive around the center of the reactor.  相似文献

We prepared two geometric isomers of [Ir(tpy)(ppy)H]+, previously proposed as a key intermediate in the photochemical reduction of CO2 to CO, and characterized their notably different ground‐ and excited‐state interactions with CO2 and their hydricities using experimental and computational methods. Only one isomer, C‐trans‐[Ir(tpy)(ppy)H]+, reacts with CO2 to generate the formato complex in the ground state, consistent with its calculated hydricity. Under photocatalytic conditions in CH3CN/TEOA, a common reactive C‐trans‐[Ir(tpy)(ppy)]0 species, irrespective of the starting isomer or monodentate ligand (such as hydride or Cl), reacts with CO2 and produces CO with the same catalytic efficiency.  相似文献

The thermogenic function of brown adipose tissue (BAT) is known to be markedly elevated when animals are exposed to the cold, and intensive studies have been carried out to understand the molecular basis enabling effective thermogenesis in cold-exposed animals. In this study, we used microarray analysis to examine the effects of cold exposure of animals on their gene expression profiles in white adipose tissue (WAT), which seems to function as a counterpart tissue of BAT. The results indicate that the effects of cold exposure on the gene expression profiles of WAT were much more moderate than the effects on those of BAT. Possible reasons for the different responses of BAT and WAT to cold exposure are discussed.  相似文献
